We’re proud to announce that the library’s new classroom (room 130) will be available to students for general computing use as of Friday, February 1st. The classroom consists of 29 brand new computer workstations, which will address the need for more computer access as indicated by feedback from library patrons.
For the University's Alumni Week, a Libraries Open House will be held Wednesday, February 6, 2008 between 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. entitled:
Your archives: your university: the history of the University of Victoria, and our alumni revealed in banners and displays.
Discover new authors in the alumni author exhibit at the entrance to the McPherson Library.
Come to the Welcome Desk, and learn about new library resources, ebooks, full-text databases, and more. There will be information about all the Libraries locations. For the nostalgic we have retained one section of the old card catalog!
People can sign up for one of the following V.I.P. tours:

Get a "hands-on" introduction to the Libraries Archives and Special Collections. A selection of yearbooks will be on display.

28th Annual Art Education Faculty Exhibit
Jan. 15, 2008 - Feb. 14, 2008 in the McPherson Library Gallery
As teachers and artists, the Faculty's art educators reveal their diverse artistic interests and identities. These are explored in drawings, paintings, collages, prints, ceramics, sculpture, and light displays.
This annual exhibit steps out of the classroom into the studios of art education to look at the creative energy which fuels their teaching.
Official opening: Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at 3:30 pm. Dr. Ted Riecken, Dean of Education presiding.
The McPherson Library Gallery is open Monday - Thursday 7:30 am - 11 pm, Friday 7:30 am - 9 pm, Saturday 10 - 9 pm and Sunday 10 am - 11 pm.
